Baronial Selection Timeline

Baron Thomas of Tenby announced at October's business meeeting that he will be stepping down at Candlemas.

• Monday, October 8, 2007: The Baron makes his announcement at the business meeting to step down. There candidates are encouraged to submit letters of intent.
• Sunday, October 21, 2007: The Baron puts in his declaration letter along with the Kingdom Seneschal submitting the Polling Timeline and Opinion Polling Clarifications in the November local baronial newsletter.
• Wednesday, November 21, 2007: This is the deadline to declare baronial candidate status—no new entrants are allowed after this date. Final letters of intent by baronial candidates are due to the Crown by email. As well, brief single-page candidate letters with full contact information are due to the Baronial Chronicler.
• Monday, December 3, 2007: The final opinion poll form with candidate names is posted to the baronial website. (Please also see the FAQs on polling.) Brief, single-page candidate letters with full contact information are also posted to the website and published in the December newsletter. This newsletter must be made available by November 30th and mailed to those individuals who request it for this one special edition.
• Monday, January 14, 2008: The Big Day. Polling occurs during the regular business (populace) meeting, at Wooldridge Elementary School, 1412 Norseman Terrace, Austin. No candidate speeches. The Kingdom Seneschal will be there to conduct the polling. You must be there in person to take the Opinion Poll. If there is an overwhelmingly compelling reason you can not make it to the Opinion Polling, contact the Kingdom Seneschal beforehand.
• Wednesday, January 16, 2008: Have you sent an email to the Crown with your commentary about the baronial candidates? If not, do so right away.
• Saturday, January 19, 2008: All baronial candidates to meet one-on-one with the Crown at King’s Round Table to be interviewed. All email with commentary about the baronial candidates is due to the Crown.
• Wednesday, January 23, 2008: The Crown announces their final decision.
• Saturday, February 2, 2008: TRM officially invest the new Baron and Baroness. This is a big occasion and the populace is urged to attend to lend their support to their new landed nobility.
