Unto the fine people of the Barony of Bryn Gwlad, saludos from Esteban and Catalina.

It has been nearly ten years to the day that my lady and I moved here from Bjornsborg. In that time, we have made so many friends, and seen some come and go. We have put our hands to much that the SCA offers and grown in our skills and knowledge. We have even been fortunate enough to receive acknowledgments for our accomplishments. We have truly found our home in Bryn-Gwlad, and we feel fortunate to know all of you.

The time has come once again for the changing of the guard in the leadership of this fine Barony. These times are always a bit sad but also exciting, as we witness the old guard preparing to step down, and wait to see who will step up to take their place. Ten years ago, we wouldn't have dreamed we would be one of those being considered, but in that time we have grown so much. Therefore, we have decided to offer our services to the Barony to serve as Baron and Baroness should the Crown, advised by the populace, agree. This Barony was made great by the service of its people. In our minds, if we are capable and available, we would be letting ourselves and others down if we didn't step up and volunteer.

We feel that our wide range of experience in various aspects of the SCA and this Barony, and our continued activity in local and non-local events make us good candidates. We are both members of the Order of the Dreigiau Bryn, held multiple offices (such as Knight Marshal, Quartermaster, Hospitaler, Herald, and Deputy Seneschal), stewarded and co-stewarded events, been leaders in the War Company of Bryn Gwlad and the Baronial Guard, and actors in the Baron's Men acting troupe. We have participated in chivalric and rapier combat, archery, siege weapons, dancing, sewing, leatherwork, knitting, weaving, painting, and more, with even more to come!

One thing that is so wonderful about this Barony is that it is full of so many great people, and we are honored to stand among such great choices for this baronial succession.
