Rapier Combat

Seawinds Defender - Bedford Points Tourney

Named for the man who created it, Duke Michael of Bedford, the Bedford Points Tourney is for fighters who love to fight. It is designed to allow plenty of fighting and ensures that fighters generally fight individuals of their same skill level.

The tournament will be 5 to 7 rounds, depending on the number of participants.

Each pairing will consist of a total of 3 wins/losses. Double kills will be counted as a win for both. 10 Points will be awarded based on the outcome of those wins/losses. These points are also used to level equalize later pairings. The first round will be randomly paired.

Points will be awarded as follows:

  • One fighter wins all 3 fights = 10 points to the winner; 0 to the loser
  • A win, a loss, a win = 7 points for two kills; 3 for one kill
  • A win, a loss, a loss = 7 points for two kills; 3 for one kill
  • A win, a double kill = 7 points for two kills; 3 for one kill
  • Double kill, double kill = 5 points/5 points split
  • A win, a loss, a double kill = 5 points/5 points split
