Being the Austin, TX chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism
In Service There is Honor!
The Baronial Guard of Bryn Gwlad is probably the most recognized service organization
within the barony. But this doesn't mean the Guard is all work and no play!
We will stand together
in the Service and Defense of Bryn Gwlad and her baronage
against all malefactors and invaders.
We will serve with Loyalty and Honor
to faithfully carry out our duties,
to uphold the laws of the barony and kingdom
and to maintain the traditions of the Baronial Guard.

Membership in the Baronial Guard is not exclusive; several of our members also serve in the Baronial War Company or in other personal Households.
Entrance to the Rolls of the Baronial Guard shall be gained through letters of application (one to the Coronet and one to the Captain) that is written in a manner that is proper for the applicant's time and culture. In this letter, the candidate is to introduce themselves to the Coronet, the Captain, and the Guard, and explain their merits, qualities, and qualifications for membership in the Guard. The letter will be presented for approval by the Membership.
If the Baronial Guard sounds like something you may be interested in joining, please contact one of the officers or any guardsman you can lay a hand on. They can assist you with writing the letter and help you to find a sponsor among the ranks of the guards. Further membership requirements and information can be found in our Charter.
You may also visit any of our regular Baronial Guard Meetings. They take place at 7:00pm at the picnic tables in the park at the PiP the night after the Monthly Baronial Business meeting. We often spend a few minutes on drills after the meetings, which all are welcome to watch.
