A&S Competition and Exhibition: Courtly Love in
the Concrete
1. Artisans may choose to enter the Static Arts & Sciences Competition.
Here the next A&S Champion will be selected. The 2007
Bryn Gwlad Candlemas A&S
Entry Form will be used. For this competition, at least minimal documentation
is required (name of article, time period, geographic location), and more extensive
documentation is recommended. All items being judged should have been completed
(not necessarily started) within the past two years. Each person is limited to
one entry. That entry can include no more than three individual items. If there
is more than one item, the entry must be a coherent entry of like items (e.g.,
three sausages, three knitted bags, three items from a Middle Eastern feast).
2. In addition, all artisans of Bryn Gwlad and our fair Kingdom are encouraged to display
the results of their hard work in a non-judged A&S exhibition. We really do want to see
what everyone has been creating over the years. No documentation is required for the exhibition,
and there is no limitation on completion date. Works in progress are especially welcomed.
3. There will also be an Arts & Sciences competition for youth 12 and under. For more
information see the Children's page.
The populace will select its favorite of the entries in both the judged competition and the unjudged exhibition. In addition, Eleanor and her ladies will be selecting the entry which best exemplifies the theme of courtly love.
Each entrant is limited to a table space of 3 ft by 3 ft. There will also be space available for items requiring floor space rather than table space. Artisans requiring more space should advise the A&S coordinator well in advance.
